We know this place and the people that make it special, and we work to connect towns and strengthen our communities through bicycle tourism. We organize races, self-guided and guided tours to match any level of adventure, because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Westfjords by bike.
Our connections are your connections. When you book with us you know you are getting the best information on accommodations, hidden gems, and local secrets. And if anything goes wrong, you have access to our extensive network of Westfjords contacts to help get you sheltered, fed, and back on route.
Cycling Westfjords was founded in 2021, and began with a vision to bring bikepackers to our home, the Westfjords of Iceland.
Having lived in Ísafjörður her whole life, our founder Halldóra was bikepacking these roads long before any tourists arrived — and she even wrote her thesis on the potential future of bikepacking in the Westfjords. We started here, and combined our knowledge and skills to put the Westfjords on the map as a bikepacking destination.
In 2022, we took a shot on a vision for an ultra-endurance bikepacking race that would bring the region together over a love for cycling. Today, we continue to host the Arna Westfjords Way Challenge, along with our series of guided and supported tours of our official Westfjords Way route, so you can ride it your way.
